Starting from June 1st, Legal Entities Can Also Become Remote Banking Customers in Türkiye!

As known, with the new regulation issued by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (“BRSA”), it has become possible for legal entities, in addition to individuals, to become bank customers through remote identification.

The Regulation on Remote Identification Methods to be Used by Banks and the Establishment of Contractual Relationships in Electronic Environment, prepared by the BRSA, has come into effect as of June 1, 2023.

In the Regulation, a legal entity is defined as commercial companies regulated in the Turkish Commercial Code dated 13/1/2011 and numbered 6102.

The infographic published by the Banks Association of Türkiye aims to provide general information to the public regarding the steps to open a bank account through the remote application method.
