The Overview of E-Commerce in Türkiye Report Has Been Published
The Overview of E-Commerce in Türkiye Report (“Report”) prepared by the Ministry of Trade and containing key data for 2024, has been made publicly available.
The Report provides in summary, explanations on the following matters;
- According to the Report, the e-commerce volume in Türkiye increased by 61.7% in 2024, exceeding TRY 3 trillion.
- The retail e-commerce volume reached TRY 1.6 trillion, with approximately 1.85 billion transactions recorded.
- In USD terms, the e-commerce volume showed a 274% increase.
- The share of e-commerce in gross domestic product (GDP) stood at 6.5%.
- The apparel, footwear, and accessories sector recorded the highest volume, amounting to TRY 301.3 billion.
- Quick commerce grew by 98.1% compared to the previous year, reaching TRY 249.8 billion in 2024.
- The age group that spent the most was 30–34 years.
- 58% of the total expenditure was made by women.
- The peak shopping period was identified as Saturdays between 10:00 and 19:00.
- The provinces with the highest e-commerce adoption were İstanbul, Kayseri, and İzmir.
This Report which provides valuable insights into consumer behavior, digital transformation, and market dynamics underscores the growing role and potential of e-commerce in Türkiye’s economy.
