SPANISH DPA IMPOSES FINE ON XFERA MOVILES
19.08.2020
The Spanish Data Protection Authority (“DPA”) has imposed fine of 70.000 EUR on XFERA MOVILES due to disclosing a customer’s personal data to a third party.
In the present case, the company had charged a customer with the claimant’s bill by mistake so that the claimant’s personal data (name, surname ID card number, and personal phone number) had been disclosed.
The Spanish DPA considered that this constitutes a breach of the principle of confidentiality, established in Article 5(1)(f) of the GDPR.
