Under Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331, the Obligation to Assign Occupational Safety Specialists and Occupational Physicians in All Workplaces Begins

Article 38 of the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331 (“Law”) titled ‘Enforcement’ states that the Law will enter into force on 31/12/2024 for public institutions and workplaces with less than 50 employees and classified as less dangerous, except for those working within the scope of Articles 6 and 7 of the Law and the abrogated Article 81 of the Labour Law No. 857.

Since the postponement period in the Law was not changed, the postponements expired on 31.12.2024. For these reasons, the obligation to appoint occupational safety specialists and occupational physicians in addition to the provisions already in force, such as conducting risk assessments, providing occupational health and safety training to employees, monitoring occupational health and safety measures taken in the workplace and eliminating nonconformities, in public institutions or private sector workplaces regardless of the number of employees, started as of 01.01.2025.
