Turkish Competition Authority Initiates a Sector Review on Mobile Ecosystems

The Public Announcement Regarding the Initiation of a Sectoral Review on Mobile Ecosystems by the Competition Authority ("Authority") ("Announcement") was published on the official website of the Authority on April 12, 2023.

According to the Announcement:

• A Sector Review has been initiated for Mobile Ecosystems, which constitute an important component of the digital economy.
• When the sector is considered from the perspective of competition law, each component of the mobile ecosystem, such as operating systems, applications, app stores, etc., may raise competitive concerns as they are closely interrelated.
• In order to ensure maximum participation and depth of data, the Mobile Ecosystems Sector Review aims to solicit information from service providers as well as application developers, end consumers, and device manufacturers who are users of the service.
