ICO Call for Views about Anonymisation, Pseudonymisation, and Privacy Enhancing Technologies Guidance

Information Commissioner’s Office  (“ICO”) published a press release that calls for views on its draft guidance on anonymisation, pseudonymisation, and privacy-enhancing technologies.  

People who would like to provide their feedback should send their views by 16 September 2022 by emailing  anonymisation@ico.org.uk.

 In the draft guidance :

  • The first chapter ‘Introduction to Anonymisation’ explains the meaning of anonymisation, details the affections to data protection obligations. For more information please click here.
  • The second chapter ‘Identifiability’ shows the explanation of guidance on managing re-identification risk according to the concept of a spectrum of identifiability, data sharing scenarios, the motivated intruder, and reasonably likely tests. For more information please click here.
  • The third chapter ‘pseudonymisation’, besides about talking the definition of pseudonymisation also provides information about the difference between pseudonymisation, and anonymisation, the benefits of pseudonymisation and much more. For more information please click here.
