ENISA PUBLISHES NEW GUIDELINES FOR TELECOM AND 5G SECURITY

The European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) has already issued new guidelines to help ensure a common approach to securing electronic communication networks and services.

The publication is an update of the 2014 ENISA Technical Guideline on Security Measures under article 13 (a) of the EU Telecoms Framework Directive (Directive 2009/140/EC)[1].

The guidelines covers 29 high-level security objectives, which are grouped in 8 security domains such as

  1. governance and risk management,
  2. human resources security,
  3. security of systems and facilities,
  4. operations management,
  5. incident management,
  6. business continuity management,
  7. monitoring, auditing and testing, and
  8. threat awareness.
