DATA BREACH NOTIFICATIONS CAN BE SUBMITTED TO THE TURKISH DPA ON THE INTERNET !

The Turkish Personal Data Protection Board (“Board”)  announced on 06.01.2020 that according to the Board's decision dated 24.01.2019 and numbered 2019/10, from now on, data breach notifications can be transmitted to the Board on the internet.

Under Article 12 of the "Law on the Protection of the Personal Data" titled Obligations relating to data security; “In case the processed data are collected by other parties through unlawful methods, the data controller shall notify the data subject and the Board within the shortest time.”.

To prepare this notification, data controller must fulfill the "Personal Data Breach Form" and send it to the postal address of the Board or ihlalbildirimi@kvkk.gov.tr e-mail address. 

In addition to these methods, the Board announced that the “Personal Data Breach Form” could be submitted online through website https://ihlalbildirim.kvkk.gov.tr/ and published “Personal Data Breach Notification Form Guide”.
