NORWEGIAN DPA IMPOSES FINE OF EUR 13.905 ON ODIN FLISSENTER
27.10.2020
The Norwegian Data Protection Authority has imposed a fine of EUR 13.905 on Odin Flissenter AS on the ground that it had performed a credit check of a sole proprietorship without having a lawful basis for the processing.
In the present case, it is claimed that Odin Flissenter had performed a credit check of a sole proprietorship that did not have a customer relationship or any other connection to the company. Credit information about a sole proprietorship is regarded as personal data, as the owner is directly identified with the enterprise, and this is directly linked to the owner’s private economy.
The amount of fine has been reduced in consideration of the economic impacts of Covid-19 crisis.
